For one 20lb turkey, your stock pot should have a 30 QT capacity or larger. Our 60 QT turkey fryer can fry two 20lb turkeys simultaneously.

Do I fry my turkey with the fryer pot lid on or off?

Keep the lid off during the frying process. A lid can cause condensation to build up, which can drip into the oil and cause dangerous splattering. Additionally, steam can build up inside the turkey fryer kit and cause the turkey’s skin to become soggy.

How long does it take to fry a turkey in a propane cooker?

On average, it takes 3-4 minutes per pound, although that time frame can vary depending on your outdoor turkey cooker. With an HPC cooker, after inserting the turkey and reaching frying temperature, simply lower the PSI on your regulator to less than 1 PSI. Your HPC turkey cooker will maintain the proper temperature for the entire frying session.
